It also happens to be the most vulnerable country in the world when it comes to natural disasters, as highlighted by the World Risk Index Report in 2023. So what makes this country in particular so vulnerable? Well, as usual, it all comes back to the physical and human geography of the country. But while the Philippines is very vulnerable, the reality is that south, east and southeast Asia is the most natural disaster-prone regions of the entire world.
