Be part of the wedding revolution! Can your church or community offer a smaller affordable, wedding package in 2021 and beyond? Due to the pandemic, during 2020, many big weddings had to be cancelled, but some still went ahead because, for the couple, it was being married that mattered above anything else. The surprise for so many couples was how ‘small’ was in fact very beautiful! Cost has often been cited as the reason why couples can’t marry, and we’d like to see marriage available to all without the barrier of cost. A positive outcome of lockdown could be a shift in society’s thinking: getting married doesn’t have to be the big expensive celebration, but instead, a smaller, intimate moment of connection and commitment that is like no other. This Marriage Week, we encourage couples to uncover what their relationship is all about – ‘essential marriage’ and for couples who aren’t married to consider marriage and to become the trail blazers of a new era of the intimate, ‘naked wedding’!
