The journey finds its joyous culmination with Chyang'dung, the fourth and final track of our EP VP1. After the descent from View Point 1, this track celebrates how far we’ve come, inviting us to embrace the present with gratitude and joy. Chyang'dung draws its essence from the Nepali term chyang — a local fermented beverage (jand) — and dung, which means to dance. This term, rooted in our academic journey while studying Music of the Hills, is inspired by the traditions of the Sherpa community. The song embodies the spirit of revelry and togetherness, reminding us that life is meant to be cherished and enjoyed. In the rhythm of Chyang'dung, we hear a call to live fully — because, as we say in Nepali, “Bholi kasley dekhey ko cha ra” (Who has seen tomorrow?). This track encourages us to dance, celebrate, and embrace the beauty of today, no matter the uncertainties ahead. Chyang'dung is a joyful reminder that every journey deserves a moment of merriment, a time to pause, reflect, and simply live. Inspired by the Magar community, Chyang'dung draws from Kauda, a lively folk song form known for its rhythmic beats and celebratory spirit. The track also incorporates elements of Bhaka, a traditional singing style from the Purbeli region, encompassing Eastern and Far Eastern Nepal, as well as Darjeeling. The first verse in Chyang'dung is taken from the Magar film "Gothalo", and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the singer, writer, and musicians behind it. Lyrics "Bhane jasto san nani lai mul bato ma vetiyo, Oh nirmaya, manko dhoko balla metiyo" Translations "As if it was meant to be destined, I met you on the way, The wound in my heart was healed, as the pain faded away." The other verse Anura'ag writes "Bachunjela hansa khela awney chaina yo dina Oh niramaya, bilai jancha tato jobana" Translations "Live, laugh, and enjoy, for this day may not last, Don’t let the spirit die, or the warmth will not last." voice by Anurag, kishor, Ajay, Kobid dai ghugu'mugu are Kishor Maharjan on Guitars @ / kishor_mrjn Ajay Shrestha on Drums @ / ajayshrestha9 Anura'ag Koinch on Sarod/Vocals @ / anuraag_koinch Recorded at Rec Studio Ktm @ / recstudioktm Assisted by Shree Rajan Shrestha @ / shrestha_empire Mix and Mastered by Kobid Bajra Dai @ / bajracreationrecords You can follow us on instagram @ / ghugu_mugu fb @https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
