The Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles has been working in the field of international cooperation for more than 30 years In collaboration with the populations in which the Cégep and its local partners intervene, this video highlight the good practices, the vision, and the challenges of the targeted communities. Being above all tools created for the awareness-raising activities of the projects, the videos have been translated into seven languages: French, English, Wolof, Bissau-Guinean Creole, Nalou, Soussou, and Sérère. About the director Véronique Laveau is a Canadian filmmaker from Québec. It is through his long stays around the world that her passion for documentaries was born. Whether in France, Israel, Benin, Niger, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Republic of Guinea, China, Taiwan with indigenous communities or when working with a Bosnian or Congolese refugee family, her desire to allow images to speak for themselves became essential. In his works, the themes of transmission of culture, intergenerational links and solidarity are approached by microsociology.
