#Mob lynched alleged rapist in VolongkomAji Correspondent Bakalia, 08 Feb'2021: In the latest incident, one person who's an alleged rape accuse was lynched by mob at Khoraji Bey village, Patradisa under Bakalia police station, Karbi Anglong. According to reports, the incident took place at night where a person who's identified as Monsing Tokbi (55) of Barelong Tokbi village in Bakalia was lynched. As told to KAToday correspondent by the villagers, last night Monsing Tokbi went to Khoraji Bey village and then entered into a woman's bedroom trying to rape her yet somehow she managed to escape from him with torn dresses. Then she shouted and called her son named Jeet Enghi and others for help. The accused person attempted such unethical act for several times in the past days too. Therefore, both the villagers of Khoraji Bey and Barelong Tokbi had already agreed to resolved and written a paper between them in presence of village headmen from both sides that if Monsing Tokbi try to do it again in near future then a strict action against him shall be undertaken. The police have visited the place of incident and immediately after initiating an inquiry, those who are involved in mob lynching were arrested and charged the case 09/12 under section 143/302 IPC, says Manjit Terang, OC Bakalia police station. Samphri Teron (24), Khonbamon Tokbi (18), Siva Ronghang (20), Waisong Kramsa (19), Rostom Rongphar (25) and Hukumsing Ronghang (20) were arrested, he added. Later, in addition to them, another two persons named Dhoniram Rongphar (30) and Khonbamon Tokbi (24) were also detained by the police. The deceased person was sent for postmortem to Diphu and until then both the police and villagers are waiting for reports.
