China's electric tricycle firms race to meet overseas demand; $5.5bln worth of exports seen in 2024

China's electric tricycle manufacturers are ramping up production capacity and intensifying research and development efforts to meet surging export demand. The country's export volume of electric tricycles reached 650,000 units in 2024, with a total export value of nearly 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of about 10 percent year on year. At one plant in east China's Zhejiang Province, a three-wheeler dressed in Spain's national mail service yellow zips across the factory floor, while others bear the names of multinational brands. The manager of the company says sales are soaring. In Wuxi City of east China's Jiangsu Province, the executive of another electric tricycle company says they currently ship over 1,000 vehicles daily. Because different regions have different requirements of electric tricycle, the company has set up factories overseas to better target their products. According to Wuxi Customs officials, there are 299 companies in the city that export electric bicycles and motorcycles, with an export value of about 452 million U.S. dollars last year, an increase of more than 46 percent compared to 2023. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
