After a lot of Western brands left Russia because of the sanctions, something very strange started happening — copies, bootlegs, and “almost-the-same” versions began to appear everywhere. One of them is Desport — a full-on fake Decathlon. Same colors. Same layout. Same vibe. Just… not Decathlon. I live in Russia, and I’ve passed this store many times, but today I finally decided to go inside and see what’s really going on there. And honestly, it’s even weirder than I expected. They sell old Decathlon collections from other countries, mixed with random Russian brands — and most of it is way more expensive than before. Since I was already in the area, I also checked what happened to the huge IKEA store nearby. The brand is gone, the logo is gone, but the building is still here — and what’s inside now has nothing to do with the IKEA we all remember. In this video I’ll show you: • what a “fake” Decathlon looks like from the inside, • what they actually sell there, • what replaced IKEA, • and how everyday life in Russia changed after Western brands left. If you’re curious about what Russia really looks like in 2025 — stick around.
