In a saucepan, add sour cream, milk, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. 2. Whisk until smooth—no lumps. 3. Heat over low flame, stirring constantly until thickened. 4. Remove from heat. Add butter and stir until fully melted and incorporated. 5. Transfer to a clean bowl. Press cling wrap onto the surface. 6. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or until fully set. 7. Once chilled, remove cling wrap and whisk the custard until smooth. ⸻ 🍞 Baked Bread Topping Version Instructions: 1. Transfer the creamed custard into a piping bag. 2. Pipe directly onto bread dough before baking. 3. Bake as usual.
