Day one of Fontwell to Brighton was Richard's biggest day to date: a huge 31 miles! He took full advantage of the good weather and arrived feeling absolutely shattered, having spent the last mile and half going steeply uphill. In fact this was the first time during WTC that he had been overtaken by other pedestrians! To celebrate his big first day, he indulged in a bit of golf half way through the Brighton course walk, albeit a pretty windy and unpleasant bit of golf. Having had to pass by so many golf courses on his racecourse pilgrimage, it was very nice to finally get to swing a club himself.
