The episode begins in Bilbilis, the so-called city of cisterns. Isaac presents the mystery of Bilbilis through a detailed tour of the remains of the city and an unexpected trip to Itálica, (Seville). After this, the documentary moves on to the historical moment when Pergamo, now in Turkey, becomes an important city and the great siphon that was necessary to build in one of its aqueducts, and immediately afterwards the siphons of the aqueducts of the Gier (France) and Patara (Turkey). Knowing the effectiveness of siphons in crossing valleys and channels, Isaac invites the viewer to reflect on why they built enormous and expensive arches to fulfil the same function. A brief visit to the arches of Segovia and Tarragona will solve this puzzle. Later, Isaac Moreno shows the viewer the mysterious site of Uxama, where he tries to answer the mystery that is to be found there. In order to show that the aqueducts were used not only to supply water to the cities, Isaac takes us to Arles (France) where the aqueduct divided itself to feed a great mill, the Barbegal Mill. Aerial images and computer simulations allow you to see and understand the operation of the system. To finalise Isaac reflects on the multitude of aqueducts that are still left to study to investigate and to discover.
