Tri-State veterans museum launches 2026 campaign to fund America 250 projects

Every face on the wall at the Tri-State Military Veterans Museum represents a personal story of service, honor and sacrifice — and museum leaders say it takes community support to preserve those stories for future generations. Mary Ann Droll, a volunteer assistant at the museum, said her own family is part of that legacy. "My daddy is over here on the wall,” she said. The museum’s memorial wall reflects veterans from the Civil War, World War II, Vietnam and conflicts in between. But museum leaders say preserving those histories comes with significant costs. This year, the museum is launching its 2026 fundraising campaign to help cover operating expenses. In 2026, leaders say the money will also support a series of projects tied to America’s 250th anniversary. “We are in the process of having a sculpture of the soldier’s battlefield cross in bronze,” said Cheryl Skinner, the museum’s director. The battlefield cross is planned to anchor the eastern end of the memorial wall as part of a larger tribute the museum hopes to dedicate later this year. But that's not all. “In honor of the military men and women who shed their precious blood fighting for the freedom of our country, it’s going to be a beautiful sea of red geraniums,” Droll said.
