We set out for Mt. Whitney Portal, but the road had other plans. This overlanding adventure through Alabama Hills, Reward Mine, and Lake Isabella had it all: broken trails, hidden mines, fishing under the Sierra sun, a blocked road to Whitney, and some of the most unreal stargazing we’ve ever caught on camera. We pushed deep into the desert backcountry, camped under ancient granite spires, night hiked into the unknown, and crawled through forgotten mines that time left behind. This wasn’t just a trip.
