641 - Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway: 139th anniversary on 29th September 2024. 723 to North Station

Sunday 29th September 2024 was the 139th anniversary of Blackpool's very first trams in 1885. As part of the heritage celebrations, only for the second time, a heritage tram ran on a special service via Talbot Square to Blackpool North railway station. The tram selected for the day was Balloon car 723 and it ran to Blackpool North twice. On its first trip, it ran from North Pier & Tower siding directly to Blackpool North then to Cabin with a return to Blackpool North railway station around 40 minutes later. Our cameraman for the day was Tony Armitage who captured some of the action including Flexity 2s on the branch.
