This second webinar will build on the first webinar covering its automotive technology roadmap, introducing sustainability, covering decarbonization of the North American aluminum industry, key data on metrics for life cycle analysis (LCA) calculations, and recycling of aluminum in the automotive market. In this installment, technical leaders from both the Association and the ATG discuss: The Aluminum Association’s recently launched North American Decarbonization Roadmap and forthcoming iterations specific to the automotive market. Metrics used for LCA calculations explaining the data and source to provide a foundational understanding of LCA. Aluminum recycling, both closed loop systems and vehicle End-of Life (EOL) including the current state of EOL scrap, what improvements are needed and why, and a brief introduction to sortation and segregation technology.
