#newzealand, #landsborough, #westcoastnz, #chopper A flight over the spectacular Southern Alps in NZ. 👉 Watch our exit flight    • Horace Walker Extraction - West Coast NZ   A sped up video of a 15 minute helicopter flight from the Copland track carpark on the West Coast of New Zealand in March 2023. The flight took us up the Karangarua river past Casel Flat hut and over the Bare Rocky Range. We continued on over the Makawhio (Jacobs) river to scoot thru a col on the Bannock Brae Range and descend down Zora Creek to have a quick look up the Landsborough. From here we had views north into the headwater of the Landsborough to the towering peak of Mt Sefton 3151m. We now switched direction and fly south to land a Kea Flat, the most northerly landing spot. North from here is a designated wilderness area with no landing permitted. We now had a 5-6 tramp up the headwaters of the river and hopefully climb over the Karangarua saddle and back to the carpark.
