Highlights from the Boston Bruins vs. the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup semifinal in the 1970 NHL playoffs. Games 1 and 4: CBS Sports, announcer Dan Kelly, analyst Bill Mazer. From "Frozen in Time", a Boston Sports Museum DVD on the 40th anniversary of the Bruins' '70 Stanley Cup win. Games 2 and 3: WSBK-TV Boston, announcer Don Earle, rerun on NESN's Fan Attic. This is a handy-dandy compilation of series highlights; I had seen them all on YouTube seperately but never on one file. I also used the sharpest video I saw. Although none of it is great, some is very good. After beating the pesky Rangers in six games, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Derek Sanderson, Gerry Cheevers, and the Big, Bad, Bruins battle Bobby Hull, Dennis Hull, Tony Esposito, and Keith Magnuson in a series Boston wins in four straight. They'd sweep St. Louis a few days later to win the Cup on an Orr OT goal you may have seen. The best hockey announcer ever, Dan Kelly, exhibits all his full-throated mastery in the Sunday afternoon games. He obviously loved calling a game at Boston Garden or Chicago Stadium. Don Earle is excellent, too. Box scores from the series in comments. Copyright, National Hockey League, Boston Bruins, or any other party. I neither claim the rights to, nor profit from, any of these highlights. I put them together for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy them as much as I did.
