On February 26, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Crimea's Resistance to Russian Occupation. Exactly 12 years ago, thousands of Crimeans: Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars and representatives of other nationalities, took to a large-scale rally under the walls of the Supreme Council of the Crimean Autonomous Republic in Simferopol. They declared to the whole world: Crimea was, is and will be an integral part of Ukraine. This day became a symbol not only of the courage and unity of the inhabitants of the peninsula, but also the beginning of a long struggle against the aggressor, which continues to this day.
