Dr Tremper Longman III (B.A. Ohio Wesleyan University; M.Div. Westminster Theological Seminary; M.Phil. and PhD. Yale University) is Distinguished Scholar and Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at Westmont College. He has written over thirty books including commentaries on Genesis, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Daniel, and Nahum. His most recent books include Confronting Old Testament Controversies: Pressings Questions about Evolution, Sexuality, History, and Violence (Baker, 2019), The Bible and the Ballot: Using Scripture in Political Decisions (Eerdmans, 2020), and How to Read Daniel (InterVarsity Press, 2020). His books have been translated into seventeen different languages. In addition, he was one of the senior translators and member of the Bible Translation Committee for the New Living Translation. He is presently writing a commentary on the Book of Revelation. He is married to Alice and has three sons and six granddaughters.
