To give the player the most options, Bethesda made all the companions that can be romanced in Fallout 4 bisexual. Or to be more precise, they don't care whether the player is a male or female. This means the player is either very lucky with their companions orientation, or bisexuality is really common in post-apocalyptic Boston.
