Series Name: THRILLER Episode Name: The Incredible Doktor Markesan Season Two / Episode 22 Aired January 22, 1962 ~ Two Seasons 67 Episodes Total / One Hour Run Time ~ Hailed as the most Frightening Series ever Created for Television! For many years, the only recordings were from a VERY rare VHS release in the early 1990s. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Special note! In researching this Episode, a common thread was detected! It seems there is a final scene that has been deemed by many to be THE SCARIEST singular scene in TV History of #macabremoments ~ I read about people having lots of nightmares based on this particular final scene. I am not saying any more about it, as I do NOT want to ruin the unexpected happenings, so a warning seemed a fair compromise! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Plot: Fred and his lovely wife, Molly, arrive unannounced at Oakmoor Estate, owned by his Uncle Doktor Konrad Markesan. The newlyweds are hoping to stay with the Uncle, while getting on their feet, and finding jobs, with plans for Fred to attend the nearby Penrose University., where Doktor Konrad is a renowned professor. ~ Upon arrival, they are shocked to see the once impressive Oakmoor looking ghoulish, creepy and abandoned! When Uncle Konrad greets them at the door, he looks shabby, decrepit, and downright ghastly! And somehow intimidating yet harmless at the same time! ~ First impressions aside, Fred and Molly carefully negotiate for some time at Oakmoor....and there are very important rules that must be followed, including not leaving their room from dusk to dawn, nor are they to disturb him when working, for any reason whatsoever. ~ Nope that doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster! This Episode is described as a Ghoulish & Gothic, Haunted House Story! ~ And once again, as is true with many episodes of Thriller, the TV production values are EXCELLENT! The music, along with the cinematography; the play on shadows and light, the visuals of SUCH dusty living quarters, even the STRINGS in the SCORE....it's all MARVELOUSLY HIDEOUS!!!!!! ~ Credits: Starring Boris Karloff, Dick York (YESSS!
