In Leh-Ladakh, protests escalated into clashes between demonstrators and the administration. The Apex body of Leh-Ladakh is demanding inclusion in the Sixth Schedule for the region, which was granted Union Territory status. The situation turned violent after Sonam Wangchuk, a leader of the Apex body, was removed from the location of his hunger strike. In response, the Apex body called for a 'Ladakh Bandh', which was successful. Hundreds of people gathered in the Leh market, leading to clashes with police, and incidents of stone-pelting were also reported. Currently, the Ladakh administration is in discussions with the Apex body to find a peaceful resolution to the demonstrations. #ladakhprotest #leh #sixthschedule #itwebvideos #indiatoday #sonamwangchuk #ladakh #hungerstrike #ladakhbandh #indiatoday #protest #clashes #currentaffairs #newsupdate #unionterritory #demonstration #peacetalks Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
