The Moment Music Touches Mind PBD-098 singer Dagmo Sonam Palkyi Language Tibetan Publication Date 2013.04.28 category New era Publisher PBC MUSIC Dagmo Sonam Palkyi (Yeshe Khandro) Dagmo Sonam Palkyi was born in Switzerland in 1984 of Tibetan parents who had settled there when they left Tibet in the 1960's. While raising their daughter in the West, Dagmo Sonam's parents made every effort to ensure that she and her siblings maintain their Tibetan roots. Descending from a noble Lama lineage family, she displayed from a tender age a fervour toward the Dharma that her parents did their best to nurture. Over the years, Dagmo Kushok never ceased to be deeply inspired by the Dharma, and as she turned to music as a means of expression and released several albums ranging from spiritual, through classical, to pop, this never left her. Her most recent album, 'A Gift of Healing', which she performed alongside her husband Khondung Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, younger son to His Holiness the Sakya Trizin and himself a highly accomplished spiritual master, conveys the unfailing healing power of the Medicine Buddha. Also featured in this album is Dagmo Sonam's moving rendition of "Calling the Lama from Afar", which poignantly captures the essence of Guru devotion. Compiled with the collaboration of Singapore sangha members, the album gained wide recognition in Asia and in Europe. And now, with a growing resolution to use her musical gift to kindle in listeners feelings of loving kindness and compassion and bring them closer to their inner nature, Dagmo Sonam lends her exquisite voice to some of the most familiar mantras of Tibetan Buddhism and envelops them in exalted melodies, each one a sublime source of blessings.
