http://www.theagencyre.com/listing/sl... This extraordinary equestrian ranch is set in the beautiful and picturesque community of Hidden Valley, an exclusive enclave outside Los Angeles that is home to celebrities, entrepreneurs and world-class equestrian centers. Private, secluded and peaceful, this ranch is available for the first time since 1957. Magnificent native oak trees, plentiful water, stone-walled garden area, vegetable garden and seasonal creeks fill this incredible property. Tucked between the Santa Monica mountains, Hidden Valley experiences cooler weather and ocean breezes from the west. The canopy of trees offers superior privacy rendering the ranch barely visible from the main road and air. The original structures of this bucolic ranch have been restored and repurposed with great care, preserving their authenticity and charm. The main residence, a 2,500-square-foot home built in the early 1900s, sits on approximately 40 acres. The ranch also contains a guest cottage, staff residence, pool, horse stalls, mare-motel, 20-meter round pen, 100 x 200 lighted riding arena, tack room, feed room, seven-car barn, sheds, and pastures. The gorgeous outdoor lighted event location accommodates up to 150 guests. Two original adobe buildings date back to the 1930s. Just moments from the main residence, a helipad adjoins a helicopter hanger. The estate contains three wells and one tank. Fire department-certified hydrants and hoses are located throughout the ranch. Door-to-door, it takes about 30 minutes to get to LAX. Camarillo airport is about a 20-minute drive. The ranch has been used extensively for filming movies, television and commercials such as, “How to Make an American Quilt,” “Bones,” and commercials. The movies, “Seabiscuit” and “It’s Complicated” were filmed in Hidden Valley, as well as “Knots Landing” and a John Wayne western. The property was purchased in 1957 by Roy Ash, creator of the Environmental Protection Agency, who served in both the Nixon and Ford administrations. Many dignitaries, including President Nixon, spent time at the ranch. Hidden Valley is minutes from Westlake Village, the world-renowned Sherwood Country Club and about 40 miles from Los Angeles. It contains approximately 40 properties ranging in size from approximately 20 to 1,300 acres. This is a fabulous opportunity to move in now and enjoy the ranch as it is or to develop it further.
