It is known as 8 stars for the 8 corners it has and also 88 because it has 88 squares on the board. This was created by the late Mr. Goro Hasegawa from Japan. 3) Anti Othello which is about trying to obtain or force fewer.than 32 discs as part of the end result. This is opposite of normal Othello which is about winning. 4) Grand Othello which is a 10x10 board with traditional Othello game rules in place versus an 8x8 board.
