🎶 Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent by Design 🎶 Another jewel straight outta Philly! 🔥🔥🔥 Subscribe and Hit like. Violent by Design is the seminal second studio album by underground hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks, released on October 3, 2000, through their own label, Superegular Records. Despite not charting on Billboard, the album was a notable success in the underground scene, selling 50,000 copies in its first week. The album was later re-released by Babygrande Records on May 25, 2004, with additional bonus tracks and a DVD. The album features verses from Jedi Mind Tricks members Vinnie Paz and Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind, along with Camden, New Jersey rapper Jus Allah, who was informally inducted into the group during this period. The album also includes guest appearances from several underground heavyweights, including Esoteric, Virtuoso, Chief Kamachi, Bahamadia, Planetary, Mr. Lif, and Tragedy Khadafi. Violent by Design marks a significant stylistic shift for Jedi Mind Tricks, moving away from the science fiction and conspiracy theory themes of their debut album, The Psycho-Social, Chemical, Biological & Electro-Magnetic Manipulation of Human Consciousness (1997), toward a more rugged and hardcore sound. This shift, while expanding their underground following, also attracted controversy due to the album's intense violence and provocative lyrical content, including anti-Christian and homophobic themes. Critics have had mixed reactions to the album's content but universally praised the production work of Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind 🔥🔥🔥. His dark, atmospheric beats, constructed from a variety of samples—including movie scores, Latin music, and British poetry—have been lauded as some of the best in underground hip hop. RapReviews.com’s Steve 'Flash' Juon called Stoupe’s work "absolutely riveting" and described the track "Sacrifice"🔥🔥🔥 as "one of the greatest single-song productions I have ever heard in hip-hop." The album’s cover art is a powerful image taken by photographer Joel D. Meyerson during the Battle of Dak To, with the inside digipak featuring the infamous execution of Nguyễn Văn Lém, adding to the album’s intense and provocative nature. @UnadulteratedHipHop SUBSCRIBE. #ViolentByDesign, #UndergroundHipHop, #EastCoastHipHop, #HardcoreHipHop, #VinniePaz, #StoupeTheEnemyOfMankind, #JusAllah, #SuperegularRecords, #BabygrandeRecords, #ElP, #MrLen, #AOTP, #HipHop, #RapMusic, #ClassicRap, #UndergroundRap
