This season he wasn't immediatly promoted to the first squad but managed to impress with a few opportunities and became a regular starter ever since. The striker has made an impressive impact on the team and they're are currently in second place, well positioned to get promoted, needless to say they are huge dark horses and Zé has proven himself as one of the most underground talents in Portugal, as such, his small market value is drawing interest from other clubs, like Cremonese and Hella Verona for example. As mentioned before, plays as a striker, looking to sit on the shoulder of defenders and push the defensive line forward, while looking for opportunities to make blindsided runs or drop back to link up. Doesn't get much of the ball, lack of touches make him look like a poacher, but has an impressive supportive playstyle with good passing, first touch and shielding the ball skills. Great physical attributes, of tall stature, slim build but strong and altough lacks acceleration, has an impressive top speed, if gets some space to prepare his runs, he's easily one of the fastest on the pitch. Related to the previous point, great ability to attack the space due to his speed over long distances, but needs to go against a high defensive line to showcase it which at the moment contradicts his playstyle. Good first touch and specially great preparation of it, shows a lot of spatial awareness. As mentioned before, good passer, but I should highlight his vision, when he's used as a pivot, he has the incredible ability of making through balls to the wingers, he could definitly become a more central piece on the offensive scheme. Not quite there yet aerially, his slim build makes it hard for him to be physical on the air, needs to bulk up a bit but already has the capability to reach higher than his opponent, a lot of potential here. Technically lacking, probably the main reason why he's more of an off the ball player, needs to refine his touch to become a reliable playmaker and improve his finishing and shooting technique. Very right footed, limits his finishing quite a bit on top of things. It's inevitable that he draws a lot of interest when he's having great performances but keeps with a market value near to zero, but Zé needs more time to develop and getting him in a more competitive setup could backfire and affect his carreer long term. The foundations for becoming a key player for teams with limited resources are there, but I think in his case it can go both ways, it will be interesting to see how this season goes, I think it will determine his whole future. #ZéMário #Amora #liga3 #scouting
