'THE HIGH AND MIGHTY' This is my arrangement of "The High & The Mighty" a Shadows number from their 1964 album "Dance With The Shadows". The High and Mighty was a 1953 Novel written by Ernest K. Gann, which in turn was made into a film in 1954. Directed by William A. Wellman, Filmed in WarnerColor and CinemaScope, the film's cast was headlined by John Wayne, who was also the project's co-producer. "The High and the Mighty" films song was by Ned Washington and Dimitri Tiomkin. Other recordings of "The High & The Mighty" have been made including one by Muzzy Marcellino, who dubbed the whistling for the film and also had a popular orchestral version of the theme song with his whistling. While Marcellino was the whistler for the film, another whistler, Fred Lowery, recorded a different, also very popular, version of the theme song that year. .......................................................................... SOUND WAS ACHIEVED BY :- I played my Fender Stratocaster guitar, into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen USB Audio Interface, then into a 'Reaper Mixing Software' programme to record the sound whilst playing to the backing track of :- 'The High & The Mighty' Using Reaper & Guitar Rig, I produced the desired sound required and saved the finished soundtrack to my computer as a MP3 file. Then I placed the camera footage onto the timeline in CyberLink PowerDirector19, 'BUT' I replaced the camera soundtrack with the 'NEW' computer mixed soundtrack from Reaper and Guitar Rig, re-edited the footage to produce the finished video of :- 'The High & The Mighty' ..............................................................................................................
