Hello YouTube! In this video I show you the adaptive tool we designed called the Lug-A-Mug to help transport a mug filled with a hot beverage. As a quadriplegic with limited hand dexterity, it can be very difficult to hold a mug full of liquid by the handle. Add in the fact that I’m trying to hold a mug with hot coffee and I could potentially burn my hand. With the Lug-A-Mug I can secure the mug at high/low areas and detach when necessary. For example, I heat my water for my tea in the microwave. I am able to use the Lug-A-Mug to place the mug in the microwave and take it out once the water is hot. This tool gives me the independence I need to enjoy a warm beverage!
