What do you do when there's four feet of snow and no end to winter in sight? Go racing of course! Matt, Steve and Chris shake off the winter blues and fire up their motors. We take a trip to visit A.M.E.C. for some spectacular wheel-to-wheel action on the frozen lakes of Upstate New York. Finally, a reason to look forward to Winter. Never heard of ice racing? When there's more than 16" of ice in the Lake George area, the Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club (A.M.E.C.) plow off the snow, build a track and get to racing. It's fast. It's intense, and it's still one of the most affordable racing weekends you could ever hope to have. AMEC is a year round club, and they race almost every weekend in the Winter. Check out what ice racing is all about, and get connected to their club here: http://www.icerace.com We also stop by Dave Burnham Citroen, one of the last Citroen only repair shops in America. Dave is an incredible technician and a wickedly fast ice racer. It turns out, he's a heck of a nice guy too! If you have a Citroen, or if you just want to ogle Dave's incredible craftsmanship check out his site here: http://www.daveburnhamcitroen.com Next, we head over to the Saratoga Automobile Museum to check out their "Remade in America" exhibit. Every car has been rebuilt, restored and re-imagined by its owner. Come see some of the hot rods, classics and customs that live in the garages of New York State. Check out the Saratoga Automobile Museum online, and stop by if you are in the area. They've always got something cool happening over there. Here's the website: http://saratogaautomuseum.org While we're there we get a chance to talk to the RPI Formula SAE team and play with their race car. See what 60 hp can do in a 300 lb. race car. Don't call it a Go Kart! Formula SAE is no joke, and these college kids are hot rodding at an unbelievable level! If you want to get on to the fast track to a career in the automotive industry, check them out here: http://www.formularpi.org This episode features an epic rock and roll soundtrack by Chris Machete! Chris Machete (of Mr. Machete and Chuck Calibre fame) drops some of our favorite tracks on this episode, including two new songs off his brand new release, "Blood and Alcohol". For those of you who don't know, Chris also produces awesome "how to" videos for us aspiring guitar players on YouTube. Chris is metal, and metal is cool. http://chrismachete.bandcamp.com As always, our theme is 'The Graveyard' by The Liquid Kitchen out of Houston TX. "The Liquid Kitchen is poised to conquer the world of rock music armed with straightforward grooves, tube driven guitar riffs, and soul piercing lyrics!"
