In this unsponsored video, we will put 2 Wilkinson bridges head to head in this Squier Sonic Series Bronco short scale bass: one with threaded vintage-style saddles and the other with brass saddles. Otherwise, the two bridges are both bent metal-style and similar in weight. Will the saddle material and shape affect the tone? Let's find out together. The bass was recorded direct through a Line6 Pod Go with my usual GK800RB model settings. No level matching. No EQ or compression was added in post. String height, pickup height, cable, strings and levels were identical in all playing examples. For this comparison, we are using the stock single coil pickup and stock roundwound strings. Headphones or quality speakers are recommended to best appreciate the subtle sonic differences between these bridges. 00:00 Intro 00:28 Setup 01:34 Stock bridge 04:10 Threaded saddles 06:42 Brass saddles 08:17 Assessment 12:40 Compilation https://jonathanwong.bandcamp.com
