Paducah Tilghman Tops It Off With Hellas | Paducah, Kentucky

After winning the school's 4th high school football state title in school history at Kroger Field at the University of Kentucky in December 2024, Paducah Tilghman can trace their footsteps back home at McRight Field where Hellas installed the same Matrix Helix synthetic turf for the Blue Tornado that the Kentucky Wildcats play on in Lexington. In addition, Hellas installed a paved into place Cushdrain® below the surface at both Tilghman High School and for the Wildcats at Kroger Field. Tilghman also selected Hellas to install Geo Coolfill® infill to keep temperatures up to 40 degrees cooler than traditional crumb rubber infills. "I get compliments from all over the state about how nice this football field is," says Paducah Tilghman High School Principal Deatrik Kinney. "It's just amazing how beautiful in turned out." added Kinney. "It's a great opportunity for our students to be able to play here on a new Matrix Helix Turf Field," says Paducah Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Donald Shively.  "It's phenomenal and it says something special when you have a top of the line, best in the nation field for your student-athletes," added Shively. "As I talk to community members," Shively said, "I let them know that Hellas has installed this same Matrix Helix turf at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Allegiant Stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders, and AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys." Shively added "that's what our student-athletes get to experience every day at practice, Friday game nights and the playoffs." In addition to the Matrix Helix and Geo Coolfill, another safety factor was introduced by Hellas. "We had Hellas install a Cushdrain underneath the turf to ensure player safety," added Shively. Paducah Tilghman is the winningest high school football and basketball boys program in the state of Kentucky with close to 3,000 wins between them. "Our kids get to experience excellence and that's what they deserve," Shively says, adding "excellence is what our community expects."
