This is my review of the A24 Rat and Mouse Trap that is made in New Zealand. UPDATE: SEE MY NEW FAVORITE MOUSE REPEATING KILL TRAP HERE:    • Most Expensive Mouse Trap, Electronic Auto...   I purchased a couple of these years ago and had them on the shelf if I ever had more rats visiting my chicken coops or garage. Thankfully the rats haven't returned, but the mice are moving in now that it's winter. I decided to test the A24 units in the chicken coop, bee shed, garage, and basement. Standard 16g CO2 Canisters are not recommended by the company, however, they are dimensionally the same, including the thread diameter and count. It is one of the most abundant species of the genus Mus." The Bee-Shed and Basement were occupied by: Deer Mice "Peromyscus maniculatus is a rodent native to North America. It is most commonly called the deer mouse, although that name is common to most species of Peromyscus, and thus is often called the North American Deer Mouse" I purchased A24 Traps at full retail price from www.AutomaticTrap.com I found them to have the best pricing, even better than Amazon, so no amazon affiliate links on this video. What I like about the A24 - Convenient to place anywhere in a moment's notice with the portable trap stand. I purchased portable trap stands for my older A24 units and they are compatible. The bait is attractive to both mouse species I'm dealing with. BUT, try to limit the amount of bait that comes down in the trap as the mice were eating it daily without going up to the trigger rod. The Counter is valuable so you know how many cycles the CO2 cylinder has fired. I have two with and two units without. I'll be adding them soon. The mice take no steps away from the trap and are crushed without bleeding out anywhere. Leaves the dead animals suitable for wildlife consumption. What could be improved with the A24- I wish they made a smaller mouse-specific unit. Some of the smaller mice visited the trap many times over a period of days before successfully triggering the trap. The biggest drawback is the price, but if you've ever dealt with rats and know what they can do, you'd be ready to shop, as I was. I had a rat avoid every single trap system I put out and it was chewing everything. Food for thought: I did look into hiring an exterminator and they charge the most for mice! $500 and up for mouse removal and some mouse-proofing filler etc. It was an easy decision to go with doing my own trapping. These units are built to last and the company has excellent customer service. Video observations were made wirelessly with Arlo security cameras: I used one to observe wild animals taking dead mice at more than 200 feet from the house.
