Nancy reveals that while she once owned nearly 70 guitars, she has since pared the collection down to around 40, though the number is always evolving, as we can all sympathise with as guitarists. Listen as she talks about her love for vintage guitars, commenting how “you hear the dirt. You hear the years, and the love that’s been put through it.” She also reflects on her very first guitar, a rented acoustic with impossibly high action and a lifting bridge, and how struggling through those early days made her a stronger player. Listen as she talks about growing up in a house filled with old English bar tunes, and when The Beatles arrived, everything changed, kickstarting her love of music and wanting to be in a band. It’s safe to say her love of music paid off, becoming one of the most iconic guitarists ever.
