Dramatic Portrait Lighting: Shooting for the Highlights

🌓 In this vlog we’ll show you how we make our high contrast portraits by shooting for the highlights. By exposing for the brightest parts you automatically get darker photos. But there are a few things you should think about: 1. You need enough contrast between the subject and the background. So try to make your background darker. 2. Think about where the light hits your subject: short and broad lighting. Short = slimming (most of the times). 🌅 Things to consider: the further away from the light source (window in this vlog), the flatter the light and thus a smaller amount of contrast. Enjoy!
