New Baby Horse, Big Mountain Dreams: Bringing Home Our Filly!

We've Been Keeping a Little Secret-and It's ADORABLE! If you've been following our journey into mountain life, backcountry adventures, and ranch living, you know we recently faced a heartbreaking decision. Our beloved horse, Timber, had been struggling, and after over a year of uncertainty, the vet confirmed she had Wobblers Syndrome. This devastating condition made it unsafe for her to be ridden and left her in constant pain, even when turned out. To honor her and end her suffering, we made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye. Shortly after Timber's diagnosis, a friend told us about a young Percheron-Quarter Horse cross filly for sale. She had everything we dreamed of in a future mountain horse-big, strong, and calm, perfect for backcountry riding, packing, trail adventures, and even ranch work. But losing Timber was still too fresh, and we weren't ready to add to our herd of mules. We passed on the opportunity, and the filly found a home with another friend. Sometimes, life has a way of working out in unexpected ways. We firmly believe everything happens for a reason, and looking back, we're grateful for how this unfolded. Our herd of mules and horses plays a vital role in our lifestyle-from backcountry hunting trips and mountain trail riding to horse training, homesteading, and outdoor adventures.
