2023 Lifetime Events Little Sugar MTB Race - Singlespeed 100k

Time to send it on the 2023 Lifetime Events Little Sugar mountain bike race in Bella Vista / Bentonville Arkansas. This is the inaugural first year of the Little Sugar MTB race and a blockbuster sell-out. With 894 registered athletes taking on the now world famous singletrack of Northwest Arkansas. Starting from Coler MTB Homestead and finishing in Downtown Bentonville, the course covered 62 miles and just shy of 7,000 ft of elevation gain. The support from the local towns of Bella Vista and Bentonville AR were exceptional and proved that it truly is the Mecca of MTB. I completed the 100k route in 6 hours, 44 minutes for a fifth place result in the singlespeed category and 106th overall in the amateur rank. With a gearing of 34x22 I was set for a long day of climbing and lost a lot of positions at the start on the 3 mile flat lead-in where geared riders with inferior handling skills passed me. Once on the singletrack I was a man on a mission to get those spots back.
