I am Antinous, the lover of Emperor Hadrian of Rome. I was born in Bithynia, a province in northwestern Asia Minor, around 110 AD. My father was a wealthy landowner, and my mother was a priestess of the goddess Demeter. I was a beautiful and intelligent child, and I received a good education. I was taught to read and write in Greek and Latin, and I was also taught music, poetry, and philosophy. When I was a teenager, I was invited to Rome to be educated at the imperial court. It was there that I met Hadrian, who was then the governor of Syria. Hadrian was much older than me, but he was immediately smitten with me. We began a secret love affair, and we were eventually married in secret. Hadrian was not yet emperor at the time, but he was a powerful and ambitious man. He knew that his relationship with me would be controversial, but he didn't care. He loved me, and he was determined to be with me. In 117 AD, Hadrian became emperor. He immediately brought me to Rome to live with him. Our relationship was still a secret, but Hadrian was determined to give me the life that I deserved. He built me a villa and gave me everything that I could ever want. However, our happiness was short-lived. In 129 AD, while we were on a trip to Egypt, I drowned in the Nile River. Hadrian was devastated by my death. He built me a temple and declared me a god. My death was a mystery. Some people believe that I drowned accidentally, while others believe that I was murdered. Hadrian himself never said what happened, but he was clearly heartbroken. Despite my short life, I had a profound impact on Hadrian. He loved me deeply, and my death left him scarred. I am remembered as one of the most famous lovers in history, and my story continues to fascinate people today.
