Car Dealers HATE When YOU KNOW THESE 7 THINGS! Insider Car Buying Tips. Car salesmen are trained in the dark arts to maximize profits on their vehicle sales. How can they make the most money off of YOU, the consumer. Much of a salespersons income is based on their commissions. I’m providing this video so you can be better armed, better equipped to navigate the nuance of a vehicle transaction. If you watch this entire video, I am confident that you’ll be able to save thousands of dollars off your next vehicle purchase. For starters, just know it’s a buyers market -just like the housing market. Don’t let any dealer convince you otherwise. Inventory levels have far exceeded demand, and with each passing month a vehicle sits on a lot, that dealership loses money on it. Time depreciation and flooring costs. Lots of unsold 2024s out there still! My credibility stems from having owned and operated a successful nationwide auto brokerage where I’d locate and negotiate deals for my clients. On top of that, if you’ve followed my channel for any length of time you’ve probably seen the countless deals I worked on my own behalf. I also hold a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, I love researching the decision making practices and patterns of organizations and understanding the thought processes that are driving said decisions. 7 TIPS TO GET THE BEST DEAL ON YOUR NEXT VEHICLE PURCHASE: 1. Negotiate the “out the door” price. With all fees included. Don’t negotiate the payment. 2. Buy Rate vs Sell Rate, dealers get a preferred lender kick back. 3. Protection plans and packages are hugely inflated in price. Same with extended warranties. They are negotiable. Dealers cannot force to you buy one to lower your interest rate, that’s illegal. Check to see if it’s a manufacturer warranty or a 3rd party. Especially with windshield protection plans, ensure the plan allows for OEM replacements not cheap knockoffs that are more prone to chipping and cracking. 4. Get pre-approved for a car loan at a credit union. Come with that in hand to the dealership, ask them to beat that rate. Kind of like buying a house, you can generally get a few credit checks in a a short window without it hindering your credit score. Ask about a pre-payment penalty. Ensure there isn’t one, most don’t have it. 5. Paying Cash or Financing? Trade in? These are all ways for the dealership to finagle the deal to their benefit. Negotiate the price of the vehicle before confirming your trade and or payment method. 6. Call around, start far away, get their BEST sale price in writing, use that as your benchmark. Start calling dealers closer and closer to you. Asking each of them to beat the last deal. It’s worth a few hours of your time. You can buy a vehicle out of state. More often than not the dealer will send a driver to pick you up from the airport. Sales tax and registration will be collected based on your zip code. Either you or the dealership will handle this. A $350 plane ticket and 1000 mile drive home is worth saving $5-10K. 7. Parting shot. Don’t be afraid to walk away. Don’t let your emotions drive your purchase. Walking away is your most powerful weapon. They WILL call you back within hours or a day or two. With an even better deal to get you back in there. Once the deal is done, write a 5 star review for the dealership, screenshot it and send it to your sales rep… let them know you appreciated the deal they worked for you. This is the start of relationship building… helps you set the foundation for your next vehicle purchase, and helps motivate the dealership to do good for their customers. Since the pandemic, so many dealers stopped caring about relationship building, started treating everyone like another number. Another brick in the wall. We need to get back to the “old days” of customers wanting to return to a dealership, building some loyalty. -Stay Untamed... #carmarket #vehicles #dealership ENGAGE WITH ME ON INSTAGRAM: @untamed_motors
