INFO: Michael Jackson performing Billie Jean 1:00 in Budapest, Hungary at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium (or Népstadion) for a sold out attendance of 50.000 people, on September 10th, 1996; the second HIStory Tour concert of the tour. THOUGHTS: I quite like this show, however Michael is obviously still adjusting to touring again, and the performance of Billie Jean get much more refined the later we go in September ‘96. Of what there is to see of this performance, I’d say it looks like a better version of Prague. Live vocals come in late as it does in the show prior (Prague) and the following show (Bucharest). It’s unfortunate because the part after the moonwalk till his live vocals come in leaves a lot to be desired. Also the instrumental sounds incredible and already so tight this early on the tour, love it. The breakdown here is so pleasant, a classic routine like the Dangerous Tour except just with HIStory Tour movements (that are similar to the Dangerous Tour imo). The Tap Dance at 7:25 is one of my favorite executions of the move; the little foot lift he does with his right foot as he swings his left foot back adds so much to the move.
