Is it just me, or do the colors just feel so freaking right!? 🎧Stream this song: https://song.link/s/2P9mFV6LfhZ76bFAl... 🎼Musescore and Sheet music: https://musescore.com/user/8476976/sh... 🦜Twitter: / prokobe790 A primarily trombone jazz/funk arrangement of the main theme of Sonic Colors and Sonic Colors Ultimate. My first repeat. This is now the first time that I’ve covered a song from a series that I’ve already covered before, and of course it was going to be Sonic. Endless Possibility was my first ever modern cover on this channel and it is one of my favorite songs ever, and I’ve been wanting to do another Sonic cover for so long since then, but I wanted to branch and add more variety to my channel first. Now that I’ve done a solid 7 songs, I decided that it was finally time to cover another great Sonic song, Reach For The Stars. Funny enough, I was actually planning on arranging this song before Sonic Colors Ultimate was even announced, but once it was announced, I moved it up the priority list and now here we are. Now even though I am a Sonic fan, I’ve never actually played Sonic Colors as a kid, so pretty soon I’m going to be trying out Ultimate and I know that I’m going to have a good time. I love Sonic boost gameplay. Now when deciding how I wanted to cover this song, I knew that I wanted the arrangement to have it’s own identity. I didn’t want it to sound exactly like the original version or the recolored version played at the Sonic 30th Anniversary. I ended up incorporating many elements from both in the final product however. So considering my instrumentation, I decided to continue off of my last cover and do another jazz funk arrangement. Unlike my last cover, this song wasn’t originally funk, so changing up the harmonic language and style to fit the genre was a lot of fun. I adore the funk genre, and after some experimentation, I figured that Reach For The Stars could work pretty well with the right jazz funk elements. I’m especially proud of the groove that I created for the verses, which utilize jazz reharmonization of the original chords in a funky rhythm, alongside the honking electric bass and fitting drumset and auxiliary percussion. Speaking of which, this is the first cover to utilize my new shaker, adding another instrument to my collection. Another instrument added was a new guitar! The red guitar I used for my last cover was actually my brother’s, so before returning back to college, I decided to get myself my own guitar, and with it I have been practicing a ton, getting significantly better at playing since my last song. And of course, just like all of my other covers, I sprinkled a bunch of references to other songs in this cover, specifically other Sonic tunes. I referenced Green Hill Zone, Live and Learn, and Aquarium Park, but my favorite reference was Endless Possibility in the second chorus. 🎵Original Song "Reach For The Stars" composed by Tomoya Ohtani and written by Alexander Makhlouf and Samuel Frisch🎵 My name is Jakobe Rabor and I am in no means a professional musician. I am just a young adult with a passion for music. I am not the best at what I play or the best at editing videos, but I try my best so I can show off my creativity. Trombone is my primary instrument and Tenor 1 is my primary voice part, and I also practice a little bit of piano and ocarina. With this unique instrumentation, I love arranging and putting my own spin on many songs from companies important to me like Nintendo and Disney with Music Covers. Sometimes I also create Epic Arrangements for orchestras and bands too when I feel like it. This YouTube channel is simply only a hobby of mine and a way for me to express my talent out to the world. It will be deeply appreciated to support my work by subscribing, and liking and commenting on my videos. Feel free to comment anything so I can improve and become an even better musician. Welcome to my channel and I hope you enjoy my music. Instruments: Voice Trombone Piano Electric Piano Guitar Bass (Piano Setting) Drumset (MIDI) Shaker Tambourine Ocarina
