We have seen games beaten by doing nothing. How about beating it's sister game the proper way? An actual quickplay of a non-game game. Yes: I'm calling it that... 😊 Like what you 👀? Drop a 👍🏻, and leave a 💬 too. 🤞🏻 it could even get a 💖! 🙋🏻♂️ Want to see more? 👇🏻 subscribe, and be sure to 🔨 that 🔔, to be 📫 of any new 🎥 / @retrovisionist Despite a decent of number of videos on the topic, rarely do I see these games beaten properly. Mostly, the bad endings are shown, even when listed as a longplay. Here, I pick the easier of the two to 'complete': GG Portrait Pai Chen, and show the alternative scenes and ending. A guide to get the best ending in GG Portrait Pai Chen are as follows... During the scene Pai Chen runs away from home, mash '1' and '2' repeatedly to make a giraffe extend it's head out of the window. During the ice lolly/popsicle scene, alternate between '1' and '2' to lick and rotate it until it's all gone before the time limit expires. During the bicycle scene, mash '1' and '2' repeatedly to cycle against the wind. As long as you are on the right side of the screen when time expires, this scene will be a success. Finally, the fight with Lau Chen. This acts as a tug-of-war style interaction, indicated by the marker at the bottom of the screen. To win this fight, that marker has to be partially on your side. All you have to do is land a hit, and then defend until time runs out. Holding down '2' acts as a blocker, meaning Lau cannot damage you. It should be noted that failing to complete earlier scenes will leave you unable to win the fight with Lau Chen. You will still end up getting Pai Chen's bad ending. So, what is the GG Portrait series? It's a pair of sister games featuring two characters - Akira Yuki and Pai Chen - from the spin-off Virtua Fighter Kids. Released exclusively in Japan under the Kids Gear line, GG Portrait is essentially a slideshow which last less than minutes. As far as I can tell, this wasn't given a proper retail release. Rather, it's more of a promotional giveaway for ardent fans of Virtua Fighter. It's important to note that the Sega Saturn also got an equivalent: Virtua Fighters CG Portrait. You may be asking: 'is this really a game?' Not in the traditional sense, no. However, it does have several interactive scenes that requires inputs. These inputs when done successfully, changes up subsequent scenes, which are required to get a good ending. In that sense, I say it does on a technical level. Just about. While similar in nature, both games have their own personal back story, character and ending. Pai Chen's is feminine in nature, with the climax being her fight with Lau Chen. Akira Yuki's focuses more on training segments, with a showdown against antagonist Wolf Hawkfield. Many of the slideshows can be interacted with by pressing the '1' or '2' button. Doing so at important sections correctly is key to getting each game's best ending. Failure to do so will make the final fight impossible to win. Not that you're missing much, as it's largely the same except for facial expressions. #virtuafighter #segagamegear #longplay #sega #gamegear #ggportrait #kidsgear #virtuafighterkids #akirayuki #paichen
