This tech talk will provide a high level overview of Network Programmability, which goes by many names, such as Network Automation and Network as Code. We will discuss the value of Network Programmability to enterprises. For years we’ve automated the building and maintaining of data center infrastructure such as servers using a programming framework, and it’s brought tremendous speed and agility to data center operations. You may ask why can’t we do the same with our network infrastructure? This answer is that we can, via Network Programmability! Network Programmability can provide value to enterprise networks of all sizes, but that does not mean you need to have a large highly skilled staff proficient in Network Programmability. Today almost all manufacturers of networking gear, both hardware and software-based, have invested greatly in tools and API’s that allow you, or your networking partner such as Transformyx, to build and maintain networks via Network Programmability. Our presenter and “demoer” will be me, Patrick Cavell. I will be joined by Ryan Gorden, A Senior Network Engineer at Transformyx. Ryan will speak to some specific use cases where he’s used Network Programmability to bring value to our customers.
