Hey guys and welcome back to ChriswithaC RC! Today we’re heading back to Caldicot RC Racers in Caldicot, near Newport, South Wales, just a stone’s throw from the Prince of Wales Bridge, for RC Racing Night 2 to answer one big question… did I actually get better at RC racing?! After 30 years away from competitive RC racing, last week marked my first proper race back and honestly, it completely reignited the fire. The buzz, the drivers, the racing lines… I was instantly hooked again. This time it’s all about progress, consistency, and lap time improvements, not trophies. This is real club-level 1/10 buggy racing, exactly how it should be. I’m running my Team Associated RC10B7, fully built here on the channel, and I’ve got to say it’s an absolute dream to drive. The car feels planted, predictable, and far more capable than I ever imagined. Tonight’s goal is simple: keep learning, push the pace, and build confidence ahead of our upcoming Cobra RC race on February 1st, which I’ll be covering in full. I’m racing alongside some very experienced drivers tonight, which made for fast laps, great battles, and a proper test of both car and driver. After spending the afternoon dialling in my setup with Craig Harris, the Hobbywing guru himself, the buggy finally felt settled and forgiving, letting me lean on it and really enjoy the drive. Massive thanks to everyone at Caldicot RC Racers for being so welcoming. The community vibe at this club is unreal and that’s what RC racing is all about. From start to finish, this night was packed with huge improvements, close racing, and big smiles. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did. 🔧 RC10B7 Build – Electronics & Setup • Hobbywing XR10 Pro G3 ESC • Hobbywing Xerun 6.5T Motor • MKS HBL575 Low-Profile Servo • Radiolink RC8X Transmitter • Radiolink R4FMG Receiver • Centro Hardened Idler Gears • 21T / 22T / 23T Pinions • Schumacher Splinter (Yellow) Fronts • Schumacher Cactus (Yellow) Rears • Injora 5mm Bullet Connectors • JConcepts Metal Servo Mount ⚙️ Setup Changes: Front Ackerman spacers removed, 0.5° pills out horizontally, 12mm front ride height, 13mm rear, 1° toe, and 1.5° camber front and rear.
