AirGap’s Social Recovery A Seed phrase is the key to your funds. Once you lose it you no longer have access to it. To help with this issue, AirGap has incorporated a social recovery feature into the AirGap Vault. The basics of social recovery are simple: The original 24-word recovery phrase gets divided and mathematically enhanced into a number of pieces which then can be handed out. That way, none of your contacts can access your funds themself. You can also specify how many pieces are needed to recover the original recovery phrase.
