Welcome to Persia | Victoria 2 Heirs to Aquitania

We’re immediately under attack by the Roman Empire. Persia, our new nation, seems promising but we don’t have time - all troops to the north now! Persia in Heirs to Aquitania appears much stronger than the Persia of vanilla or Divergences of Darkness. From Afghanistan to the Levant it controls a huge swathe of land in 1836. It even has more accepted cultures. But the vast territory it owns is coveted and as an unciv, we’re weak. The traditional nemesis of Persia, Rome, defeated Armenia then secured its interests in Eastern Europe by assisting Poland. Now, in 1841, they’re marching round through the Caucasus into Persia seemingly to carve a route into India. We surely can’t defend ourselves against the mighty Romans, but our key geographic position could be our salvation: other powers with interests in India might be willing to defend Persia as a buffer to keep Rome out. If we survive the day 1 existential fight against the Romans, Persia needs some good nation-building to bring her to westernisation. After a thrilling knife-edge struggle against Virtualrock’s Smolensk in the Russian Civil War, I was defeated as the Russian Tsardom. During every rehost, both of us looked around the world to see the status of potential “exile” countries that we could switch to in the event of annexation. Teralarga was taken by the crushed Celtic Federation, Egypt was colonised by Naples before a player could even claim it, but one promising nation remained: Persia.
