Tebifana Abifuna perform the Embaga (wedding) dance, recorded at the Uganda Golf Club at an event put on for the Kabaka (King of Buganda) in 2004. The Kabaka hadn't arrived yet, and Tebifana Abifuna were performing songs and dances to entertain the audience. The dancer leading is Beti Namata, who had been giving lessons to Raquel. Sitting on a chair watching on is James Ssewakiriyanga, the lead drummer. Ssewa and Beti's group would perform every weekend at weddings and functions - sometimes dividing up the group into 5 to be able to cover all the bookings on busy weekends. Seen also in the video is Albert Ssempeke playing endongo (lyre) and his brother Ludoviko Sserwanga playing endingidi (fiddle). Samuel Bakkabulindi is playing mbutu (the big drum). Everyone in the group were masters of their craft, were very welcoming of us and we felt privileged to be learning from them.
