Well here it is at long last ! Its been talked about and promised for months and finally here is episode 1 of this brand new project looking at THE RIVERS of NORTH EAST ENGLAND. Ironically the Tweed has most of its course in Scotland rather than England, but because its estuary is in England that is why it is included in this project. It is also a very important river, which this series will endeavour to explain. It is my intention to film all 8 major rivers in the coming years. This one on the Tweed, then the Aln, the Coquet, the Wansbeck, the Blyth, the Tyne, the Wear and lastly the Tees. The Tweed is reported to be 97 miles long and there will be many episodes to this first series of films. The first three episodes are focused on the Upper Tweed Valley and the fourth on the town of Peebles. They were filmed between September and December of 2024 and took many trips each week to complete. This project is different to the projects I have done in the past. It is filmed and presented entirely in 4K, the very best resolution possible on You Tube. The series looks at the People living on the banks of the river as well as the history of the area and the river. Set against the magnificent scenery the border region has to offer with its castles, hills and picturesque towns, this is truly amazing. In my opinion, the best work I have done so far. I hope you enjoy what will unfold over the coming year and as always keep supporting the channel in what ever way you can and leave your comments below if you inspired to do so.
