For today's free wire tutorial, I'm setting a fancy shaped cabochon (I'm using a carved fox, as it has both an irregular outline and differing surface heights) to demonstrate how you can adapt a prong setting to fit unusally formed cabs. If you've already followed along with one of my prong setting tutorials, then you find this easy to adapt and follow for irregular or fancy shaped cabs, such as carved totems with a flat back, or perhaps a drusy or rough fronted cabochon. The video gives full tuition on creating prongs and adapting them in 3 dimensions, so even if you are newer to wire wrapping, you might like to follow along and give it a go.
