We spent two nights at the InterContinental Phu Quoc, which exceeded our expectations. The resort felt similar to InterContinental Hua Hin, but with more amenities, particularly for families with kids. The kiddy pool area was impressive, with a big water slide, shallows, and a water play area. Our standard room, courtesy of IHG points, was upgraded to an ocean-view room on the 6th floor. We were also offered an upgrade to a Junior Suite, which had an outdoor patio with stunning ocean views. However, we did not take on the offer because the room wasn’t ready till late afternoon. The Club Lounge was a highlight, with a private adults-only pool, gourmet food, and a secluded environment. We enjoyed the breakfast spread, which included braised 3-layered pork, Lobster Pho, and Unagi Don. The rooftop bar offered fantastic sunset views, but the menu was limited to pub grub. The resort's location was a bit isolated, but they offered a shuttle to Duong Dong night market. We were disappointed that they no longer offered a complimentary shuttle to the airport on the day of our departure. Overall, our stay at the InterContinental Phu Quoc was enjoyable, and our child loved the pool area. The resort offered great value for money, with excellent amenities and services. We would definitely consider returning.
