Watch the "Time of Your Life" Interview with Vickie Kerr The Miss Vickie's Chips story began on Bill and Vickie Kerr's potato farm in Canada in 1987. Vickie had the idea to create a healthier snack for their four young children using the potatoes her husband, Bill, grew. She left the skins on, used non-hydrogenated, 100% pure cooking oil and lightly sprinkled the chips with sea salt as soon as they came out of the cooking kettle. In 1987 snack food manufacturers used anti-foaming agents in hydrogenated and partially-hydrogenated cooking oil and added BHA and BHT as preservatives. Vickie was the first in Canada to use sea salt on her Miss Vickie's potato chips. Vickie created a new potato chip category and Miss Vickie's became a national gourmet potato chip brand in Canada after only 5 years on the market This video is an interview with Bill and Vickie Kerr on their farm and they discuss the challenges they faced as they started the company and their vision that helped it grow.
